Born in North Hampton County, North Carolina, January 30, 1956. Attended Northern High School, Baltimore; Essex Community College, A.A., 1978; Salisbury State College, B.A., 1980. Member, America's Fund; National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). Awards received from: Baltimore City Council, 1981; President, Baltimore City Council, 1985; State Senate, 1985; Maryland State Conference, NAACP. Mayor's Citation, Baltimore City. Named Young Democrat of the Year, Young Democrats of Maryland, 1985. Three children.
