TASK FORCE ON COMPENSATION OF CHILD-CARE PROVIDERS

Authorized in 1994, the Task Force on Compensation of Child-Care Providers was appointed by the Governor in June 1995 (Chapter 178, Acts of 1994). The Task Force charge was to study the salary and compensation levels of licensed child-care providers, and of employees of child day-care centers, including child-care workers, assistants, teachers, and directors. The Task Force also reviewed federal and State policies that support adequate compensation of child-care providers. In addition, the Task Force considered what the State pays for care of eligible children, and methods to educate parents on the need for licensed child care.

The Task Force is expected to report to the Governor and General Assembly by June 30, 1996.
