Born in Woodstock, Virginia, January 1, 1947. Massanutten Military Academy; University of Virginia, B.A., 1969. Served in Maryland National Guard, 1969-75. The American University Law School, J.D., 1974; National Judicial College and National Center for State Courts (court administration), 1988. Admitted to Maryland Bar, 1975. Member, American and Maryland State Bar Associations; Prince George's County Bar Association (pres.). Regional Board of Directors, Prince George's County United Way. Instructor, Paralegal Institute, University of Maryland, 1982; faculty, Prince George's Community College. Chair, Board of Trustees, Henson Valley Montessori School, 1985-87.
